그 마지막 단계인 ‘도시비우기’ 사업을 11월30일부터 12월28일까지 총 8회차로 실시했다.
진행은 웨일웨이브협동조합에서 맡아서 했다.
주민으로 구성된 3개조 : 1조 장춘오, 2조 삼김시대, 3조 정화해
주민 중에 신정시장에서 서울떡집을 운영하는 김성미님은 5월부터 12월까지 결석 한 번 안하고 열성적으로 참여를 했다.

-1차시(11월30일)-오리엔테이션 및 도시재생 기본교육 : 오리엔테이션(아이스브레이킹), 도시재생의 이해와 마을관리단, 주민조직 주도 마을환경개선 활동 사례 교육이 있었다.(웨일웨이브협동조합 관계자 분들이 청년들로 구성된 협동조합이라 디지털문화에 어두운 우리들 3개조에게 많은 도움을 주었고, 많이 배우기도 했다.)
-2차시(12월5일)-도시비우기 사업 사례 교육 : 워크숍을 위한 팀빌딩/공동체 게임 진행, 도시비우기 사업 및 마을환경개선 사례 교육 진행하고, 도시비우기 활동 계획 세우기를 했다.(외부활동-정해진 구역을 돌면서 도시비우기 리스트를 만들고, 사진도 찍고, 어떤 것을 가장 먼저 해결했으면 좋을지 의논을 했다.)
-3차시(12월7일)-마을 현황조사 및 도시비우기를 위한 의제 발굴을 진행하고, 발굴된 의제를 바탕으로 공유하여 신정1동 도시비우기 의제 리스트업을 했다.(발굴한 의제를 조별로 정리하고, 겹쳐지는 의제가 몇 가지 나와 이 부분에 대해 의논을 해 하나의 의제로 묶기로 결정했다.)
-4차시(12월12일)-발굴된 도시비우기 의제 중에 실제 적용/희망하는 의제로 결정 후, 결정된 의제를 바탕으로 해당 의제를 해결하는 방안을 시각화 하는 워크숍을 가졌다.(투표방식으로 의제를 결정했다. 실현 가능한 의제 하나를 정해 1/2/3조 모두 참여하기로 결정했다.)
-5차시(12월14일)-시각화한 워크숍 결과물을 바탕으로 도시비우기 실제 이미지 공유 및 피드백(결과물 포토샵 이미지 적용), 당장 실현 가능한 의제 해결 및 마을 환경개선 활동을 위한 팀 빌딩(30여 가지의 의제 중에 실현 가능한 ‘가로수 빈터를 보행로 화단평탄화 및 보드블럭을 깔고, 식물배치’로 도시미관을 살리기로 결정했다.)
-6차시(12월19일)-조별로 마을 환경개선 활동 계획 수립 및 활동을 진행했다. 이날 3개조 모두 현장에 나와서 작업을 했다. 쓰레기와 악취로 가득했던 가로수 빈터 5곳 중에 4곳에는 자갈과 보도블럭을 깔고, 1곳에는 화분식물을 놓아 도시미관도 살리고, 깨끗하게 정비를 했다. 이날 급격히 온도가 내려가 땅이 얼어서 작업하는데 애로점이 많았으나 웨일웨이브협동조합 관계자분들과 함께 작업을 해서 잘 마무리를 할 수 있었다.

이날은 약 8개월 동안 도시재생 사업을 마무리 하는 날로 성과고유회 및 수료식을 가졌다.
다들 아쉬움 반 시원함 반으로 서로를 격려하고, 아낌없는 박수를 보냈다.
시작할 때는 한 달안에 우리가 뭘 하겠나! 하고 시작을 했었는데, 성과공유회날 결과물을 보고는 스스로에게 장하다는 생각을 가졌고,
2023년에도 도시재생 사업에 꼭 참여하겠다는 의지를 보였다.
도시재생사업에 참여를 하고 나서 느낀점이 있다면,
주민의 눈으로 주민의 입장에서 바라본 신정1동에 대해 마을을 비우고 마을환경개선 활동을 했다는 것에 큰 자부심을 느꼈다.
